Stony Plain
Located just 5 kms. west of Spruce Grove is the Town of Stony Plain. It is Parkland County's best kept secret of a jewel in the rough. Although it only has a population of just under 18,000 people, it is close enough to all the major amenities and is part of the Tri-Municipal Regional Plan, and shares the benefits of the encompassing partners, City of Spruce Grove, Town of Stony Plain, and Parkland County.

History
Stony Plain began as a settlement known as Dogrump Creek back in 1881 and later on in 1892 was renamed to Stony Plain in reference to the Indigenous people of the area being called the Stoney People.
Today you can see many of the murals on the walls of the local buildings telling the story of early life in the town.
Many different cultures are represented in the make-up of this town, as evidenced by the array of different store-fronts and businesses.
